Welcome to Exeter Sports Club Darts League

we are pleased that St Austell Brewery are main sponsors of the
Exeter Sports Clubs Darts League

A Very Warm Welcome to our Site
We are the Exeter Sports Club Darts League and play on Tuesday evenings in and around Exeter. The League is open to teams based at bona fide Sports and Social Clubs in our area.

Please remember that this is not Sky Sports News, but we do try our best to get items of interest, fixtures, results and tables on the site soon after the games have been played.

We have a Players' Forum on which we encourage players to air their views and get a bit of banter going as well as the more formal stuff including the minutes of meetings.

In the Reports Page our fixtures secretary reviews each match played in some detail from information sent in on the match result cards.

If you want to contribute to our Players' Forum or ask any questions of the WebEd then please email on webeditor@exeterdarts.co.uk We will try to get back within a few days and the site is updated at least once a week.

We would also like to thank our main sponsors St Austell Brewery and other sponsors whose messages you will find throughout the site and ask that if you are in need of one of the services they offer you give them a try - and don't forget to mention where you heard of them!

We hope that you find our site useful and look forward to you visiting us regularly.

4. Presidents Address First of all I would like to welcome you all here tonight. I would like to thank our Chairman Tony Grabham for keeping the website updated every week and his reports as web editor also for standing in at the half way stage of the season as D. Jenkins resigned as fixtures secretary. Now to our secretary/treasurer, once again what a season she has had. I would like to thank Laurie and Cheryl for producing this season’s finals night programme also for his help with the trophies and the organising of finals night and our M.C. Andy Maddicks. Thanks to all the committee members for turning out at meetings on Wednesday evenings over the season. One person I cannot miss out on is Scott Foggin for getting the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons sponsors St. Austell Brewery to the sum of £500.

Last of all I would like to put a proposal to our Treasurer/Secretary and Fixtures Secretary to get an extra £25 honorariums. I am putting this vote to the floor.

5. Chairman’s Address Welcome everyone. I’ll keep this short. May I thank everyone who has contributed to the smooth running of the league, of course the committee but especially Rose and Laurie. May I thank all who made finals night such a great success, there are too many to thank individually. The league has enjoyed a successful season financially which you will hear about shortly from Rose. Our web site continues to run well, over the season we had a few items on the players’ forum but not many, I guess from that point of view the league is running smoothly. The site averaged 350 unique visitors each month, with an average 950 hits per month,32 per day, from just over 200 players plus their supporters. All in all we had a terrific season and the standard of darts was fantastic. Thanks to everyone for making that possible.

6. Registration Secretary Report.  Unfortunately, halfway through the season we had a change of secretary and I temporarily assumed the role so I can only report on that period. I encounted no problems, the cards came in on time, our results, tables and reports got into the Echo each week which was a week behind the website and this seemed to satisfy everyone. Overall my half of the season went very well. Later in this meeting we will debate a change of playing format. You may find the following of interest. Of our 18 teams from 11 clubs, 13 were short at least once-only five of them completed the half-season without giving games away. Eight out of nine first division teams were short and 5/9 second division teams. From 10 games: 5 had full teams, 8 short once, 2 short twice, 2 short three times and 1 short four times. My thanks go to all the team captains for their prompt return of result cards and their effort in making all players names legible. One request for next season: when you register for next season can I ask that you print players’ first and last names - makes life easier.

7. Treasurers Report The treasurer’s report took the form of a balance sheet.

8. Secretaries Report: Thanks to Jo and Daphne for the rolling draw and also Jo for selling draw tickets on Finals Night. Thanks to Laurie, as usual, for all his hard work in keeping the leagues running and to all advertisers for the website and programme, hope to keep this going for next season. Next season’s Finals Night will be at Whipton Labour Club and it would be great if a representative of St Austell Brewery could present the trophies.
